The membership point system allows the officers of the Society to track involvement in both the community and the organization, while also providing a healthy competitive atmosphere that encourages for members to "out-serve" each other both inside and outside of the Society. The button below will direct to the membership point log/leaderboard, where progress and ranking are tracked semi-anonymously (Last 4 of UNM ID only) in the Society google drive (for mobile: best viewed in Google Sheets App).
The point system is as follows:
3 pts / each meeting attended
1 pt / volunteer event
0.5 pt / reflection after volunteer event

Members will be granted access to the Society's "Volunteer Opportunities" resource, where contact info, events, and outreach organizations (some of which the Society will have great reputations with) will be provided for. Volunteer opportunities that match busy collegiate schedules are difficult to come by-- let alone making time to scour the town or the internet for them! By providing this resource for members, the Society hopes to help its members and the New Mexico community symbiotically benefit from more outreach and volunteering citizens.

Part of the membership dues help fund our end of the year banquet. Here, outstanding members will be recognized, new officer elections will take place, and of course, the end of the school year will be celebrated amongst peers.
Other annual events include a suture workshop and medical student panels.
